About my yoga classes.

There are a few things you should know about my yoga classes (If you don’t know this already):

I like to use props.  If I ask you to get a chair, don’t run out of the room because you think the class will not challenge you.  I promise that this will not be your grandmother’s chair yoga class!

I will most likely correct your posture.  Don’t take this personally.  Everybody’s posture gets corrected.    Even mine, when I am studying with my teachers.  I don’t correct people’s postures because I am being critical of them as a person.  I correct people’s postures because I know the direct benefits of being corrected by my teachers.  We don’t make progress on the path by staying comfortable and stuck in our old habits and patterns.

Before being corrected.

Before being corrected.

After being corrected. Better, right?

After being corrected. Better, right?

I believe in the saying: “It is not practice that makes perfect, it is perfect practice that makes perfect.” That means that I will encourage you to do the most prefect pose that you can do given your strength and flexibility at the time.  It doesn’t mean that I expect you to do the full expression of the pose today.

If you are interested in working thoughtfully and deeply with discernment, then you probably are going to enjoy my classes.

I hope to see you on you mat.
